The Doggy Moma StoryIn 2018, both my precious dogs, Biggio and Roskoe, were just miserable with itching and starting to lose a lot of hair. Their Vet suggested changing food as a solution, so I tried many different brands of kibble and canned dog food. After months with no significant improvement in my dogs’ health, and needing to continue with allergy meds and sometimes antibiotics for their sores from scratching, I knew I had to try something new and drastic. Thanks to my search engine friend, I found many home-cooked dog food recipes online. So, I gave it a shot and starting cooking. After all, I love to cook as much as I love my dogs!
In short order, my boys were no longer itching and their hair was nice and thick and shiny! Next, I started cooking for my daughter’s dog, Thor, and my niece’s dog, Bruce. All dogs experienced health improvements in different ways; they were healthier and that meant less vet visits for all of us. Then, more friends and relatives asked me to cook for their dogs too. That got me into entertaining the idea of making my dog food as a business. In 2019, I started exploring the idea of starting my own company and I prayed for God’s divine intervention and guidance. I started very slow by formulating the products for larger production, and did months of research on the rules and regulations for the dog food business. I officially launched Doggy Moma, LLC in Jan 2020 with the goal of having 3 fresh-cooked and frozen dog food products available for sale by summer 2020. Thank you for reading my story! "Moma" is not misspelled
You may think “Moma” is spelled wrong, but I assure you it is not misspelled. When I was in elementary school, the word "MAMMA" was a spelling word and I told the teacher she spelled it wrong. I told her that I called my mother "MOM-A"; not "MAM-MA". I even spelled it MOMA on the spelling test and she did not mark it wrong, so I must have convinced her. I have written every note to my wonderful mother as "Moma" and she has signed her name "Moma" to every note she wrote me. So you see, it is spelled correctly. I taught my younger brother and sister well, and they also used "Moma" in pen and in word. And, my daughter calls me "Moma" as well. Maybe in a 100 years, we will bring the dictionary up to the Doggy Moma name! LOL
MY FAMILY
They greet me first every time I come home
They make sure I’m not lonely or sleep alone
They make me happy when I feel sad
They never are grumpy or tell me they’re mad
They guard and alert me to anyone near
Even the postman or an unknown person they fear
They pour out their love in so many ways
They only ask for a belly rub every day
They are forever and always at my side
They deserve the very best that I can provide
They love me so much, like no one I know
That’s my dear dogs, Biggio and Roskoe.
